One of Europe’s most popular destinations has something for every traveler

You could spend weeks exploring this fascinating country and still have plenty more to see. Mighty castles, stately homes, magnificent gardens, soaring cathedrals, romantic landscapes, and historic cities are flung across the far corners of England like so many jewels. From prehistoric monuments such as Stonehenge in Salisbury to modern creations like the London Eye, and from reinvigorated industrial towns like Newcastle-Upon-Tyne in the north to reconstructed Victorian getaways such as Bath in the south, England appeals to every type of traveler. Getting everywhere is relatively easy, whether you’re departing by train from one of London’s four train terminals or arriving in the capital from Europe via the Eurostar under the Chunnel.
